Welcome to Velocity Moving and Storage. By using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. Please review these terms carefully before booking our moving services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By engaging Velocity Moving and Storage for moving services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions, as well as all applicable federal and state regulations governing household moves.

2. Services Provided

Velocity Moving and Storage provides local and long-distance residential moving services, commercial and office relocation services, packing and unpacking services, storage solutions, and specialty item moving. All services are subject to availability and must be booked in advance.

3. Estimates and Quotes

We offer binding estimates as fixed-price quotes based on the inventory provided, non-binding estimates as approximate costs that may vary based on actual items moved, and hourly rates for local moves which may be charged on an hourly basis with minimum charges.

Final charges are determined by the actual services rendered. Additional items or services not included in the original estimate will result in additional charges.

4. Booking and Deposits

A deposit may be required to secure your moving date. Deposits are refundable up to 48 hours before the scheduled move date. Changes to moving dates must be made at least 48 hours in advance. Same-day cancellations may forfeit the deposit.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due upon completion of services. We accept cash, credit cards, certified checks, and money orders. Personal checks may be accepted with prior approval. Long-distance moves may require payment before delivery. A credit card authorization may be required for insurance purposes.

6. Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for providing accurate inventory and move details, being present or having an authorized representative present during loading and unloading, securing parking permits if required, ensuring building access and elevator reservations, disconnecting and reconnecting appliances requiring technical expertise, removing items that cannot be legally transported, and declaring high-value items for proper insurance coverage.

7. Non-Allowable Items

We cannot transport hazardous materials including flammables, explosives, and corrosives, perishable foods unless same-day local move, live plants for long-distance moves, pets or live animals, and cash, jewelry, or irreplaceable valuables which customer should transport personally.

8. Insurance and Liability

Basic Coverage (Included)

All moves include basic liability coverage up to 2 million dollars. This covers loss or damage according to federal regulations at 60 cents per pound per article.

Full Value Protection (Optional)

Additional insurance coverage is available for purchase to cover items at full replacement value.

Limitations

Customers must declare high-value items in advance. Claims must be filed within 9 months of the move date. Items packed by customer may have limited coverage. Pre-existing damage is not covered.

9. Claims and Disputes

Damage or loss claims must be reported immediately upon delivery. Written claims must be filed within 9 months. We will investigate all claims promptly and fairly. Disputes may be resolved through mediation or arbitration.

10. Delays and Force Majeure

Velocity Moving is not liable for delays caused by weather conditions or natural disasters, traffic or road conditions, building access issues, mechanical breakdowns within reasonable limits, government restrictions or regulations, or acts of God or circumstances beyond our control.

11. Storage Terms

If storage services are used, storage fees are charged monthly, items are stored at your risk with insurance available, access to stored items requires advance notice, unpaid storage fees may result in lien on goods, and climate-controlled facilities are available.

12. Cancellation Policy

More than 48 hours notice results in full refund of deposit. Between 24 and 48 hours notice results in 50% deposit refund. Less than 24 hours notice results in no refund. Weather cancellations result in full refund or rescheduling at no charge.

13. Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy and protect your personal information. Customer data is used only for providing moving services and is not shared with third parties except as required by law. See our Privacy Policy for complete details.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York and federal transportation regulations. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of New York County, NY.

15. Modifications

Velocity Moving reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Updated terms will be posted on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
